A multidisciplinary recruitment company has announced ambitious growth plans for its newly appointed commercial and financial director.
Mark Newby will join the Board of Directors at Sure Group, a specialist group of companies operating in the recruitment, logistics, commercial and healthcare sectors, after spending four years as the group’s commercial manager and playing a pivotal role in the company’s multi-million-pound growth and expansion.
In the next five years, Sure Group has an ambitious goal to double its turnover and the Board are confident Mark is the man to help them achieve this.
Mark said: “I’ve been presented with some fantastic opportunities over the course of my career, but my promotion to finance director at Sure Group is the most challenging and exciting to date.
“In five years, I have seen Sure Group grow into a multi-million turnover company, providing a one stop recruitment, logistics and healthcare solution across the UK with offices in Hull, Leeds, Rugby, Scunthorpe, Northampton and London.
“Since joining I have never looked back and I am looking forward to continuing help deliver the business’ vision and aims – namely, growing the Group’s trading activities and expanding further across the UK.”
Prior to joining Sure Group, Mark was Commercial Finance Manager at a national recruitment agency, handling roles in finance and national key account management.
Six years in that role followed key roles in accountancy and finance, including a decade at Foremans Relocatable Buildings Systems, where he saw through the sale of the business to market leaders Portakabin, acquisitions and formations of new business opportunities and multiple property and asset acquisitions.
Marks appointment comes hot on the heels of Sure Group’s founder and managing director, Charles Draper, being shortlisted for Business Leader of the Year in the nationally recognised REC Awards 22.
Charles said: “Within the next five years, Sure Group will be one of the UK’s biggest and strongest resourcing, healthcare and logistics businesses. We recently invested more than £1m in a new headquarters in Hull, the city in which we were founded. This complements our five other UK-based offices.
“Mark has played a pivotal role in our relatively short but highly successful journey so far. We have asked him to support us in a new, expanded role as we seek to consolidate our strong reputation for sourcing quality candidates, providing reliable logistics services and strong customer service.
“We aim to double our turnover in the next five years and Mark will be instrumental in helping us to achieve this. We are delighted that he has agreed to step-up, and we look forward to working with him to achieve our challenging, yet achievable, objectives.”
