Congratulations to our founder and managing director who has been shortlisted in the Hull Daily Mail Business Awards.
Charles Draper has been picked by an independent judging panel as one of three up for the Young Entrepreneur of the Year category.
An article in the Hull Daily Mail revealed the shortlist and reports on how an idea for a business has transformed the Sure Group idea into a national success story.
What started out as a way of making some money while Charles was studying at university has now become a £5m turnover business, with offices in Hull, Knottingley, Wakefield, Manchester, Northampton and London.
Charles said: “I’m really humbled to have been shortlisted for the award in the area where the business started and continues to go from strength to strength.
“The success and growth are down to all the staff working at the company and all those who have gained employment through our services. Without their hard work and dedication, we wouldn’t be where we are now.”
Also shortlisted for the award is Jody Annandale, who founded the salon business Brown Sugar, and Sarah Fenwick, who co-founded the tree surgery business The Tree Fellas Hull.
Charles said: “It really is a privilege to be shortlisted alongside two excellent entrepreneurs, each with incredible business stories.
“It really shows the talent in this region and the entrepreneurial spirit of residents in this area.”
The awards’ ceremony takes place on Thursday, November 14, at the DoubleTree by Hilton, Hull.
